Hieline Medical offers power wheelchair rentals throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. We carry two models: a standard power wheelchair (300 lbs capacity) and a heavy duty model (400 lbs capacity). Both are full-size, non-portable units suited for daily use at home, in the community, or while recovering from injury or surgery.
Delivery is required for most customers because power wheelchairs are heavy and non-portable. Pickup is possible if you have an accessible van, truck with ramp, or vehicle equipped with a lift. Call to confirm.

Common Questions
Do I need a prescription?
No, you can rent directly without a doctor’s order. Just call to schedule.
Can I pick up the chair myself?
Power wheelchairs are heavy and non-portable. Pickup is only possible if you have an accessible van, truck with ramp, or vehicle equipped with a lift. For most customers we recommend delivery.
What’s the difference between standard and heavy duty?
The standard model supports up to 300 lbs. The heavy duty model has a reinforced frame and stronger motor and supports up to 400 lbs. Both have the same controls and battery system.
How long does the battery last?
A full charge typically lasts a full day of normal indoor use. We recommend charging overnight. The charger is included with every rental.
Are the chairs portable or foldable?
No. Both models are full-size, non-portable power wheelchairs. If you need a foldable mobility option, ask us about our scooter rentals.
Can I extend my rental?
Yes. Rentals auto-renew at the original period rate. Call us anytime to confirm or change your rental period.
Rental Policies
Rental Terms & Conditions
- Payment
- Full rental period plus delivery fee paid upfront. We accept all major credit cards. HSA and FSA cards cannot be used directly, but we can provide an itemized receipt for reimbursement.
- Renewal
- Rentals auto-renew at the original period rate (weekly or monthly). Contact us to change or end your rental.
- Cancellation
- 15% cancellation fee applies after the order has been processed and the chair is scheduled for delivery. Cancellations on the day of delivery are not refundable.
- Cleaning & Returns
- $35 cleaning fee if the chair is returned excessively dirty. Please call at least 72 hours before pickup.
- Delivery Service Area
- $45 base delivery within 15 miles of our Plano store. $20 added per additional 10 miles. Pickup at end of rental uses the same rate.
- Damage
- Customer is responsible for damage beyond normal wear. Repairs or replacements are quoted at parts and labor cost.
